In this DIR I Directing Actors short course, aspiring directors can learn how to work with actors during pre-production and the directorial skills required for a successful artistic collaboration. How to define key elements in script breakdown, character arc, to communicate with actors about the themes, conflict, and story arcs. This comprehensive directing workship will help directors learn how to create trust with actors, keep them in the best mental and physical state for intimate moments, how to avoid over-acting, how to control their voice and body language, and create a consistant acting style throughout the film.

DIR II
Directing Actors ON SET

5 WEEKS | 10 CLASSES

In this class, Directors will learn techniques in Directing Actors on set during production. Directors will apply all the skills learned in D.I.R II, such as the A.C.T Method, Acting Techniques and Scene Study tools to guide, inspire and push actors to achieve their best performance possible. Directors will learn how to direct Actors during highly complex emotional scenes such as arguments, making love, fighting, crying and how to rehearse and block actors. In the final class, Directors will get an opportunity to direct a performance of two actors in a scene using two cameras and two setups each.
